Upon completing the program, will I gain weight again?

No – During a research done on our patients who had completed the Program more than a year before, we found that 94% of the patients lost even more weight, or did not gain more than 3 kg.

If you adhere to your personal stabilising diet and recommendations you will experience the same results as 94% of our clients. At the end of the Program we equip you with your personal scientific formula (Critical Carbohydrate-Level) indicating your personal tolerance to carbohydrates. Stick to your formula and you will never gain weight again. It’s as simple as that!

Of course – if you go back to your previous way of eating (consuming plenty of refined sugar and carbohydrates) then you will most definitely gain weight again. That is why it is so important to understand what your body’s carbohydrate tolerance level is and stick to it.

Will I constantly feel hungry while on this diet?

No, you will most definitely NOT feel hungry while on this program.

If the program is working correctly, you will notice four beautiful phenomena. You will be less hungry than you usually were. You will see an increase in well-being. You will notice how the kilos are dropping off. Almost more startling is the decrease in your measurements the tape measure tells you clearly in detail.

From our experience we can assure you that cutting carbohydrates is infinitely less painful than cutting the quantity of food. This is partly because you are less hungry, partly because your food preference changes and partly because, once you understand what carbohydrates do to you, they become, in your own mind, your enemy.

Can I follow this diet if I have a pre-existing thyroid problem?

Yes, you will be able to follow this diet – as long as you keep using your medication as prescribed. Hypothyroidism is one of the most commonly cited medical reasons for needing to eat a moderate carb diet.

Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland produces too little thyroid hormone, this may result from an autoimmune condition or from medical procedures such as surgery or radiation therapy. It may also be an acquired genetic condition. Your diet can have a significant impact on your thyroid function. A low-carbohydrate diet may decrease certain stresses on your thyroid and promote healthier thyroid function.

We highly recommend that you have your thyroid tested on a regular basis. Should your condition improve, speak to your doctor about adjusting your medication accordingly.

If I suffer from diabetes or I have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic, is it safe for me to follow this diet?

Yes, you will be healthy and safe on this diet. The main difference will be that you will lose weight a little slower than our other patients. The reason for this is that we cannot take away too many of your carbs.

Today, most people with diabetes are encouraged to eat a balanced diet of lean meats and dairy, whole grains, healthy fats, and fruits and vegetables.

Indeed, a lot of those newly diagnosed with diabetes are happy to find out that they can still have most of their favourite foods, in moderation—as long as they lower their blood glucose with medication and exercise.

Is this a high protein diet?

No, this diet is a carbohydrate-controlled eating plan.

For decades now South Africans have been brainwashed by advertisers to start the day with processed cereal, and fill up the hours afterwards with soft drinks that contain no real nutritive value, only carbohydrates.

With this Program you can eat as much as you want and as often as you want. (Kindly try to keep to the recommended quantity of food during the losing stage.) You can eat luxuriously – heavy cream, butter, mayonnaise, cheese, meat, fish, fowl and crisp green salads.

I have high cholesterol, is this diet a safe option for me?

Yes, absolutely yes! In fact, this diet helps to control high cholesterol.

This Program isn’t just a weight reducing diet. It is the medical treatment of choice for most people with adult-onset diabetes, with cholesterol problems, ulcer problems, migraine, heart and arterial diseases, and especially for the fatigue and emotional disturbances that accompany low blood sugar.

In short, it is the Program that treats obesity and all its deadly relatives and we know this Program will work for you. It has worked on the hundreds of thousands (literally – presently we treat about 3,000 a month) of patients who have come to us for treatment.

Can I still attend parties?

Yes, of course you can. We do recommend some advice in this situation:

Whenever at a party or social dinner, start with as much as possible protein – it suppresses the appetite. If you find that you cannot resist the temptation, if necessary, follow Phase 1 given to you in the beginning. This will help you to get back on track.

We know that life gets in the way sometimes, it is very important not to give up because you have slipped. Start with your program as soon as possible and get back on track!

Is exercise a necessity?

Unfortunately your metabolism will still be slow, which can be easily overcome by having extra activity. Although it is not necessary to start a vigorous workout routine, some form of activity will be very beneficial to keep your metabolism going. We recommend: Walking, cycling, swimming, climbing stairs, aerobic exercises, skipping rope, etc. Exercise 4-5 times per week.

Luckily, because you will be losing weight and centimeters, you will gain a higher energy level. Pretty soon you will look forward to some form of activity!
